...to get my kids to look at the camera, smiling, all at the same time.


Family Picture Day 2011 was for the most part, a success. Even if we didn't get a "good one" of all three kiddos. This one will do!

Oh how I love them. At ages 8,6 & 5, they still melt my heart as they each did on day one. They are growing so fast.


Yep, this one will definitely do.

Pumpkin stand

We just bought two home-grown pumpkins for $5 from this "on your honor" pumpkin stand out in front of someone's house on the side of the road.

Never seen such a thing and I love it!

Janie Face

My beautiful niece Jane...(aka "Janie Face" so lovingly given this name from her favorite Aunts: Me and Aunt "B")

This 10 month old is SUCH a doll. I'm in love with her.

So today I'm playing a stick-out-your-tongue game with my cutie-pie niece and she's winning!




And also, I'm not giving my sister back her baby when she returns.

"Utahns"?

Do we officially declare ourselves "Utahns" now as we've succesfully completed the Timpanogos Cave National Monument Hike? Wow, what a day! 1.5 miles up and gained over 1,000 feet in elevation. The kids were troopers, with minimal whining ;) and the cave tour was really amazing. Good times.



And a sidenote: We did recently received our UT drivers licenses in the mail...even though when I fill out most every form that exists at oh, the doctors office, or school papers, and any online ordering---I STILL type or write in CA for the state, each and every time!

Halloween Carnival

Today was the Halloween Carnival at Valley View. These cute kids were so excited.



We had a little drama with Spencers costume. I buy my kids costumes on clearance the year before (they pick them out) and he chose Boba Fett from Star Wars and we packed him away nicely and pulled him out a few weeks ago. Well, THIS year he was quite aware that he's 8...in a new school...and apparently Boba Fett is a "baby costume" (?) and ALL his friends were being something scary.. ALL of them.

(insert eye roll)...

so I refused to fork over more money, but had compassion for his predicament and thankfully his older cousin had a skeleton costume we borrowed. Yay for cousins in close proximity! And yay for a happy 8 year old who now feels comfortable in his "scary" get up!

Provo Canyon

Today I took my Grandma Joy on a drive through the canyon. Is there anything more beautiful than a canyon in the Fall?!

While I appreciate my kids art, I do NOT appreciate finding it on the vinyl armrest in my van.

At least I know who the culprit is: my boys don't draw girls in dresses and I only HAVE one child who wears dresses.
