This year we were so blessed to have BOTH sets of grandparents here for Easter weekend.
We dyed Easter eggs on Saturday (blurry iphone picture is better than no picture!)
Woke up to Easter Baskets
Family photo op
And after church it was time for an indoor easter egg hunt. Indoor because a) we don't have a yard, really. And b) it was drizzly raining.
Next it was an awesome dinner of steaks, roasted potatoes, salad and vegetables.
And then Shirley and I made Nana's traditional Easter lemon cake. YUM.
What a perfect weekend.

When Daddy's car dies...
you drive to LA as a family to pick up a new (used) car!
We had a great day as a family, actually. Even though we (kids & I) spent about 3 hours sitting IN our van waiting for Daddy to do business.
After the used car purchasing had been done, we headed over to the LA Temple to walk on the grounds and visit the newly re-done Visitors Center.
Each child picked out their favorite miniature statue and posed
(I secretly love that Spencer chose this Mother/Son statue...)
This is Moms favorite
Inside the visitors center they had great interactive things for the kiddos to do:
And after our tour, ended up at the Christus Statue.
Where after photo ops, the kids got a little irreverant...but the sister missionaries told us to let them go as it was sweet to see them at the statues feet. It was very sweet.

Robot
Leda brought this home the other day from Kindergarten.
Notice the name of the robot?
I didn't pay her to write that :)

Blue & Gold Dinner
I'm behind on blogging.
Back in February, Spencer joined scouts. It's all been very exciting.
He had his first Blue & Gold dinner and was SO excited to make a cake to auction off that night. He wanted to do a camping theme...so we went with it!
He literally decorated this entire cake himself---with no help from me. And I'm not lying. He was so proud!
Grandma McLendon and McKayla were here visiting from Montana and got to join us!
Father & Son cuteness
Chase with his favorite Primary Teacher Sister Allen
He was introduced by my friend Helle as the newest member of the Troop!
Even though he'd just joined Scouts a week before, he'd worked hard to earn his Bobcat...which means a patch for him and a pin for me! What a lucky Mom!
We really enjoyed the dinner!
And at the end of the night, his cake was auctioned off for $20! (whew. parents sweating bullets that no one would bid on our kids cake)
And my friend Cassie (Spencer's leader) made THIS amazing cake. Can you stand it?
Let the fun times in Scouting begin!!

Tangled

Chase walked up to me yesterday in the kitchen and said,
"Hey, you don't look so good, Blondie!"
and there's two reasons why I know he's not really directing this to me:
1--the obvious
and
2--we've watched the movie "Tangled" more these past two days than is healthy for any normal family.
